Tiivistelmä:Due to the increasing competition and the development of of labour market, banking has to follow new paths in the future. All efforts to optimize the organizations of banking business offer an important strategic advantage. The new organizational structures should reflect customer needs and contribute to higher productivity of work. In this connection catchwords like "quality and cost optimization" are gaining in importance. It is shown how a lean and process-oriented organization could create more favourable conditions for the development of information and communication systems. This concept will help the banking industry to improve its efficiency and service quality.
