| Tiivistelmä: | In 1990 as the German Options and Futures Exchange - Deutsche Terminborse (DTB) was established, German banks began to develop securities lending in germany. Legal changes and the introduction of lending agreements were necessary to facilitate the growth of this market. A different scenario exists in the German repo market. The German repo market is still relatively undeveloped. A major reason for this is that German banks are subject to the minimum reserve requirement which, in certain instances, penalizes banks who do repos. |
