Tiivistelmä:To achieve lasting quality improvement and customer satisfaction, management should allocate sufficient fund to continuously integrate all aspects of quality control - including product and service design - with the company's underlying operating strategy. Quality assurance activities - prevention, appraisal, and defect/failure correction - are depicted and analyzed. Some popular views and the assumptions associated with the behaviour of quality assurance activities are reviewed. Continuous incremental improvement as a recent strategic management development is described. Its impact on total quality expenditures and customer satisfaction is outlined. It is shown that it offers American business a weapon to competitiveness.
