Tiivistelmä:A well-elaborated program of employee involvement has evolved at Xerox since 1980. Later on a joint union-management program has saved thousands of jobs in the Rochester area. The massive job cuts caused some disruption in the early employee involvement efforts. In 1983 Xerox chief executive, David Kearns has begun his Leadership Through Quality program. Today virtually all of the company's 110,000 employees have gone through at least 32 hours of training in the problem solving, quality improvement and statistical control techniques. The main results and problems of this management-driven process are described. Objectives of future development are summarized.
