| Tiivistelmä: | The huge Japanese conglomerates (keiretsu) seem to be almost ideally suited to encounter present day challenges of international competition. On the one hand they are big enough (with up to USD 350 million turnover) to conduct efficiently research and development, to establish worldwide marketing and sales networks an to maintain large data-banks and global communications; on the other hand they possess the necessary flexibility and operational independence to adjust to the rapid changes of the global markets and technological developments. |
