| Tiivistelmä: | This article aims at identifying innovation drivers and their performance implications in manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Based on survey data from a sample of 600 Australian SMEs, it is found that SMEs are similar to large firms in the way of innovation strategy and formal structure being the key drivers of the performance. Yet, they do not seem to utilize innovation culture in a strategic and structured manner. Thus, it is concluded that SMEs' performance is probably improving with the increasing of the degree to which they mirror large manufacturing firms as to formal strategy and structure etc. |
