| Tiivistelmä: | This study explores the international scale and scope of European multinational enterprises (MNEs). Based on five measures (hereafter as: msrs.) of multinationality and five msrs. for intra-regional activities, it is confirmed that the European MNEs focus on their home region market rather than the global market. There is no evidence found of European MNEs focusing on global markets or becoming geographically diversified from 2000 to 2006. Furthermore, it is suggested that scale and entropy msrs. based on sales and assets are better than scope msrs. based on country counts. |
