Tiivistelmä:In Germany the "Krieslaufwirtschaftsgesetz" will take effect in 1996. Following the idea of a circular economy producers of products are made responsible for the redistribution and recycling of used products as an "extended product responsibility" during the whole product life cycle. In this article the implications of designing the traditional value chain as a closed loop value chain are discussed for marketing strategy and marketing mix instruments. A review of the literature in the field of business administration and marketing shows different approaches to the subject "circular economy". Finally, steps for further research are identified and discussed.
