Tiivistelmä: | The study explores the factors enhancing the servers to receive more tips. Specifically, the study pays attention to the restaurant manager's capability to train server's to engage in one of more of seven tip-enhancing behaviours. By means of the training the goal is to increase the servers' tips, and thereby reduce turnover. The study consists of an internet survey of 1066 restaurant servers from the United States (U.S). The findings reveal that servers who more often engage in the tip-enhancing behaviors receive larger tips compared to other servers. The findings support the effectiveness of the tip-enhancing behaviour. |
