| Tiivistelmä: | This paper aims to examine the perception and adoption of blogs among public relations practitioners. It is also explored how blog use relates to roles and status. Based on a national e-mail survey of nearly 220 U.S. public relations professionals, blog use was found to be similar to national audiences. However, practitioners were attending to mainly personal blogs and using blogs professionally at low levels. Moreover, women lagged behind men in the strategic use of blogs. Finally, cluster analysis challenged Porter and Sallot's roles typology, returning to the previous manager-technician dichotomy. |
