| Tiivistelmä: | We apply the Olley-Pakes estimation technique to an augmented production function and estimate rates of learning-by-doing in over 250 SIC4 industries in the manufacturing sector in United States. Then, we examine the relationship between learning and concentration of producers using Sutton's bounds approach. It is found that the lower bound of concentration is higher in high-learning industries, which indicates that learning-by-doing has attributes of an endogenous sunk cost. |
