Tiivistelmä: | A planar, two-facility location problem involving a minimax decision criterion is considered. The distinguishing elements of the model are the combined distance from the two facilities to each point and the minimum separation between them. The problem is interpreted as the minimum covering ellipse problem, an interactive graphical method is employed which easily produces near-optimal solutions. The method is implemented on personal computers. The use of the convex hull in the solution proccess allows one to ignore internal points that have no impact on the optimal solution. |
