Tiivistelmä:Manfred Schmitt, the formerly unknown German entrepreneur has got an astonishingly good position on the German PC market with his cheap but well designed black computers. In 1991 he has sold 80 000 computers, that number represents 5 p.c. of the German PC market. The self made man employs about 500 employees and plans a turnover of 600 M DEM for 1992. The secret of the success of his Escom computers is the agressive marketing strategy applied by him. The story and the national and international business activity of this new but emerging PC firm are described.
