| Tiivistelmä: | The financial burdens of the unification of the two German states has been leading to the enormous indebtedness of the Budget. The conditions justifying the exceptional high deficits are scrutinized. Some ways and means of economic policy for the reduction of the budgetary deficit are reviewed and some measures giving an impetus to economic growth are proposed. A scenaric of a possible course of events from the beginning of the German currency union until the end 1996 is presented. Some threatening factors are identified. A few points of departure to the improvement of taxation are determined. |
