| Tiivistelmä: | There are eleven provinces and regions located in the western part of China, covering 71.2 percent of the country's total land area. But its total volume of export and total amount of foreign investment utilized are less than 10 percent of the total of the country. The economic development strategy for the western part is: to develop and make use of resources, to give preferential treatment in policy and capital to projects for energy and raw material development; to develop transportation and communications, to bring into play the function of the city and to loosen policies for foreign trade to promote trade in border areas. |
