Tiivistelmä:Dr.Hawkins' study examines the main differences which characterize Durables research and distinguish it from fast moving consumer goods research. In this paper, the author concludes that the scope for industry initiatives in providing research techniques is probably limited, except in the sphere of syndicated research. There are some problems which are more or less peculiar to Durables because of their very nature: their greater longevity, higher price, and relatively low volume of sales.
