| Tiivistelmä: | Up to the present criticism of Portugal cinema consisted of passionate, impressionistic evaluations. The author argues that a more scientific approach is necessary. One such approach could be semiotic. Portugal cinema is non- professional, frontier-type and these characteristics lend themselves easily for a semiotic investigation. |
