| Tiivistelmä: | The future of the German coal industry is examined. The question is of current interest, since there is a passionate debate about the plans of the federal government concerning the financing of the German coal industry. There is a widespread agreement in the country that it is high time reformed to reform the country's coal policy. The article discusses in this context the general goals of the German energy policy, the coal policy as structural policy, the impacts of the former subsidies, the planned system of financing, and the idea of introducing a general energy tax. |
