| Tiivistelmä: | The article explores the construction of the poem on the level of syntagmatic organization. The concept of construction is interpreted both as the 'act of constructing' and the 'act of reading'. The authors propose a typology of the construction of poems which is both an abstract classification and a historical description. The conclusion of the article is that European poetry can be characterized by the tension between rules and the subversion of these rules. |
