| Tiivistelmä: | In this paper the author illustrates the idea of trade creation and trade divertion effects in the world literature as well as the most frequently applied methods to measure these effects.Based on the established weaknesses of these methods, the author is developing an alternative method for the ex ante assessment of trade creation and trade divertion effects on the grounds of the price elasticity of the product group (SITC) which can be relatively simply applied for the calculation with data obtainable in the statistics publications. |
