| Tiivistelmä: | This article summarizes General Electric Wiring Devices' experience in developing a total cost supplier selection methodology that defines a balance between qualitative approaches and complex, fully cost-based methods. Utilizing the GE process, a cross-functional team classified supplier selection elements into three categories: risk factors, business desirable factors, and measurable cost factors. These variables relate to the company's sourcing practices. The applicability is demonstrated in several different case scenarios. |
