Tiivistelmä:Management control systems have received limited attention in the marketing literature. A conceptual framework for combinations or systems of controls is constructed and 4 alternative systems are identified: a traditional management control system with formal controls, a clan system with informal controls, a low, and a high control system. The findings indicate that SBU characteristics and task complexity predict the system to be emphasized. No relationship is found between the systems and job performance. Directions for future research are discussed.
