| Tiivistelmä: | This essay explores the interplay between institutional and technical change and suggests a less pessimistic interpretation of the growing transaction sector. The authors focus on the level of the firm, rather than on the level of the market or the individual, because the relationship between technique and institutional structure are most obvious there. The framework developed in this paper suggests a new historical perspective on the relationship between technical and institutional change. |
