| Tiivistelmä: | The destruction of tropical rain forests is a burning problem with a plethora of causes and possibly catastrophic consequences. One issue in this context is the role of trading timber from these forests. Some authors suggest that the timber exporting countries should organize an export cartel to exploit their market power, to make their timber industry more profitable, and thus to create incentives for the preservation of the forests in these countries. |
