| Tiivistelmä: | An important development is the growth in the number of temporary and contract employees. This paper presents the results of a study of contract workers in the petrochemical industry. The primary concern is the consequences contract workers have for safety in an industry where safety mishaps can have catastrophic consequences. Overcoming these threats while maintaining flexibility requires a high level of coordination among human resource professionals, managers, executives, unions, and government. |
