| Tiivistelmä: | Automation is an efficient solution to achieve the goal of higher output and better quality. This has led to the use of automation techniques: CAD, CAM and CIM are widely used today. Computer automated systems using robotics, CNC devices, automated material handling systems and computer vision are now being integrated to form flexible manufacturing systems (FMS) that can automatically manufacture products through computer-based programming. An FMS cell engineering has been developed at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) in conjunction with the GE Corporation. |
