| Tiivistelmä: | If one views current level of activity in data modeling, defining data warehouses, information engineering, or in designing relational or object oriented databases, one can come away with the feeling that these are new terms and new concepts. They are not. This paper describes a data modeling effort undertaken by members of the information systems department and by members of the business client in the finance area within Hewlett Packard. It also presents some of the hurdles that must be faced when modeling financial data and suggests approaches to handling certain data modeling issues. |
