| Tiivistelmä: | The urbanization of the rural areas in Shanghai was seriously stagnant. Since the late 1980's, there has been some rapid development. But the proportion of rural population remains almost unchanged. Recently making settlement in towns or cities has become "hot points among some of the suburban farmers. So the government should attach importance to this work and gradually complete the urbanization system which is composed of the central city of Shanghai, the satellite cities of small and medium size and the towns in rural area. As for the members of the system, they should be exceptional in characteristics, compensating each other in function, rational in structure and harmony in development. The idea of residential registration should be lessened and more policies concerned should be made. |
