| Tiivistelmä: | Complex processes of unification and fragmentation may occur simultaneously as European areas seek to develop the United States of Europe (USE), a group that will have to appease ethnic nationalities. While Western Europe becomes increasingly united, influenced by exceeding cohesion within the European Community (EC) and the probability that more countries will join the EC in the near future at the State level, pressures arise at the regional level that tend to fragment the State itself. It is perhaps inevitable that the processes of unification and fragmentation should occur simultaneously. |
