| Tiivistelmä: | In spite of financial and personal R&D resources scarcity small and medium sized firms of the lake of Constance (southern Germany) and the Alsace (eastern France) hardly use informations offered by research institutions, technology transfer offices etc for their innovation projects. Sample-firms of the machinery, vehicle and electronics sector prefer personal contacts to clients, suppliers and competitors for their innovation processes. They didn t use "regional networks" for R&D. The presence of a diversified regional technology-infrastructure was not important to create interindustrial R&D-links. The study regions have to take considerable efforts to promote cooperations of their firms, to use existing know-how and to make synergies effective. |
