| Tiivistelmä: | Cost-benefit analyses of government regulation are fashionable nowadays. The Monitor Committee, in its June 1995 Report to the European Council, recommended that the Community publicly and systematically evaluate the costs and benefits of government action before introducing new internal market legislation. A number of proposals are reproduced in Annex 1 of this article. Several countries have already started to conduct limited cost-benefit analyses of newly proposed and existing legislation. Cost-benefit analyses are often associated with recent trends towards deregulation. |
