| Tiivistelmä: | Managers in Corning plants in Greenville , Ohio, and Kaiserslautern, Germany, were both faced with plummeting sales and profits. Traditional cost systems had misled managers and provided them an inaccurate picture of the cost and profitability of the organization's products and services. Managers in both plants had to learn how to align the substructure of cost and complexity with the superstructure of strategic and operational decisions. This required reframing their approach to cost and complexity reduction, along with how they direct and manage their organizations and people. |
