| Tiivistelmä: | Recent research indicates that the unreliability of conventional recruitment procedures is actually built-in -- so is there a better way? Last year 3,764 graduates entered into ICAEW training contracts. Judging by past experience, at least a third will ultimately fail to qualify, with heavy costs to both employer and failed trainee. Is it the examination structure that is at fault or is it that firms are recruiting people who are either not suited to the demands of professional work or not capable of clearing the examination hurdle, however it is restructured? |
