| Tiivistelmä: | The central government decided to practice macro regulation and control by an economic growth rate of 8% or so during the Ninth five-year Plan period. But in the concrete arrangement, the economic growth rate may be controlled at 8.5% or so in 1996, reach 8%, the lowest level in 1997, rise again to 8.3% or so in 1998 and near 9% in the last two years. Under such an economic growth rate, the urban and rural residents' annual per capita net income will reach 4744 and 1923 yuan respectively by the year 2000. The rural residents' per capita net income will equal 41% of the urban residents'. The absolute gap between both will be 2821 yuan. |
