| Tiivistelmä: | Nowadays, factoris using assembly lines are required to turn out an increasing variety of high quality products with shorter lead times than ever before. This paper reviews some of the most promising sequencing techniques, develops a simulation model which includes both a paced, mixed model assembly line and a JIT fabrication shop feeding the assembly line, and evaluates the sequences in various ways. The results show that the most common measures of a sequencing can be a good predictor of how well a paced, mixed model assembly line will perform. |
