| Tiivistelmä: | In the recent 15 years since special economic zones were established, the local economies have developed rapidly and their annual growth rate of GDP averages over 25%. The total industrial output value and the total volume of import and export have reached 191.4 billion yuan and US$ 57.3 billion respectively. 1997 is the year of the utmost importance to the development of special economic zones. The special economic zones enjoy many advantages in the following aspects: the investment environment, management system, market mechanism and industrial structure as well as the return of Hong Kong. The above advantages have been formed in the development and construction in the past 15 years, They have laid a good foundation for the development. It is estimated that the overall development situation will be better than that in 1996. |
