| Tiivistelmä: | Since reform and opening up, southern Jiangsu's urban and rural economies have developed rapidly. This area's GNP, added value of township industry, revenue and per capita net income of peasants rose by 21.8%, 42.8%, 16.2% and 12.8% respectively every year, on average from 1979 to 1995. viewing from the ten main features and the successful practice of southern Jiangsu model, we can summarise its connotation as follows: It is an export-oriented economic model leading peasants towards the general target of common prosperity, which takes a road leading to the co-ordinated development between economy and society and that between material progress and cultural and ideological progress, developing market economy, based mainly on public ownership and with the collective township enterprises as the main body. |
