Tiivistelmä:Japan imported its first automobile around 1900, a vehicle ordered by an American businessman living in Yokohama. The first car dealer in Japan was the Japanese outlet of the Locomobile Company of America, which specialized in the import and sales of U.S.-made Locomobile steam-powered cars. The dealer, whose main offices were located in the Yokohama Bluff area set aside for foreigners, also opened a showroom in Tokyo to display and sell cars. That showroom played an important role of introducing the Japanese to automobiles.
