Tiivistelmä:Firms typically sell on credit rather than requiring immediate payment. There are a number of reasons why suppliers do this. but none suggest that trade credit is a cheap form of finance. However, a business culture which places immediate financial advantage above contractual obligations has become commonplace in the UK, as well as other countries. Having supplied a customer there is relatively little that the creditor can do to speed payment unless the supplier is prepared to risk confrontation with a customer who may well be able to obtain supplies elsewhere.
