Tiivistelmä:By the end of 1996, among 50.60 million square metres of idle commodity houses, the general residential houses were 39 million square metres, accounting for 77%. It reflects the problem in house-purchasing subject which needs to be reconsidered. At present, the middle-income earners should be the subject of housing consumption in China for they have great potential demand for housing. Therefore, house prices should be fixed rationally by the standards set according to house purchasing subjects' purchasine ability. House prices should be positioned at 84,000 yuan according to 1:6 proportion between average annual household income and house prices. Then consulting the rational price position we can readjust commodity house prices.
