| Tiivistelmä: | In the late 1960s and early 1970s disappointments with the post-colonial economy led to regionalism in parts of the Third World and encouraged South-South trade and economic cooperation between developing countries. There is a new optimism in Africa concerning this trend. Some African countries started structural adjustment programme reforms (SAP) in the 1980s and by the mid 1990s, many African countries had improved their capacity for continuous reform. |
