| Tiivistelmä: | For a modern enterprise. for the protection of its market positions and the development of success potentials, it is imperative to carry out strategic planning. This is one of the original tasks of the management of an enterprise. Although Germany's health-system is not a market-orientated system, it is currently changed by the increased installa- tion of market elements. From this fact the authors derive the necessity of institutionalised strategic planning for the enterprise hospital. Despite planning on a governmental level, an active part in the shaping of the future is demanded of the hospitals.
