| Tiivistelmä: | In this paper the authors empirically examine the impact of a local economic development incentive called tax increment financing (TIF) on property value growth rates of municipalities in the Chicago metropolitan area. The authors find evidence that cities that adopt TIF grow more slowly than those that do not. |
