Tiivistelmä:For the motorist, driving though a red light may save time, but will probably lead to disaster, even though most of us have done it at one time or another. The research behind this article reveals that many highly successful managers have also, at some point in their career, missed and ignored warning signals and persevered with business mistakes even after they had become evident. The author considers how it happened and how it can be avoided. Illustrated with 'blow-by-blow' case-history management disasters, this article examines the reasons behind this phenomenon, drawing attention to some of the typical characteristics of 'red light behaviour'.
