| Tiivistelmä: | This article critically discusses the concept of the bean counter controller in a Finnish context. By interviewing Finnish controllers from several organizations, it is examined whether the bean counter notion is still valid in a specific situational setting, in a typical bean counting activity - when the controller is analyzing and processing performance measurements. It is shown that the bean counter metaphor is no longer descriptive of contemporary Finnish practice. |
