Tiivistelmä:The authors have used a behavioral approach and extended the strategic human resource management (SHRM) reasoning to the study and literature on high reliability organizations (HROs). Reliability as a predictor of organizational performance is evaluated, and eight reliability-oriented employee behaviours (ROEBs) are identified. The ROEBs presumably foster the reliability of the organization and are especially important to companies working in ‘trying conditions’. A reliability-enhancing human resource strategy, called the REHRS in developed in the article. The authors conclude how the behavioral approach offers explanations to that why people contribute to certain organizational goals in certain circumstances, and also helps to take the high performance human resource strategy (HPHRS) further in new ways.
