| Tiivistelmä: | The article examines the process by which theories form into schools of thought. The main argument is that contrary to previous models, the theory context attributes, not only the content, affect the school formation process. More specifically, the paper claims that factors such as the quality of the publication outlet, the reputation of the theory source and the reputation of the theory originator's university will influence the likelihood of a theory evolving into a school of thought. Different combinations of context and content attributes are examined, as well as implications for future research. |
