| Tiivistelmä: | The objective of this study was to determine certain socio-economic characteristics of visiting tourists, to gather quantitative information on tourism spending in the Balearic Islands and obtain qualitative data on tourist attitudes. The study focuses on various methods of evaluating a fundamental variable of tourist expenditure: average daily expenses per tourist. It proposes results which were obtained from different robust location estimators, placing special emphasis on Huber and one step's M-estimator. Besides results were obtained by using the bootstrap estimation. |
