Tiivistelmä:Recent studies about institutional (hereafter as: inst.) entrepreneurship (as: e-ship) have brought the issue of agency to the forefront. Inst. e-ship has been presented as a promising way to account for inst. change endogenously. However, this notion faces the paradox of embedded agency. This paper examines under what conditions individuals (as: indv./indvs.) are more likely to engage in inst. e-ship, taking into account the indv. level of analysis often neglected by neo-inst. theorists. Relying on Bourdieu's conceptualization, it is proposed that indvs.' social position is a key variable in understanding how they can act as inst. entrepreneurs despite inst. pressures.
