Tiivistelmä:In this study the authors research the topic of disability equality in 1995 under the Disabled Persons (Employment) Act and in 2003 under the Disability Discrimination act. The perspective of the research is through the practices of human resource management during the aforementioned times. The study analyses whether there has been a change between these events with the employer´s practices and if this change is associated with the increasing hiring of disabled people or not. The findings indicate that in 1995 proactive HR measures to encourage disabled employment had a remarkable impact on disabled employment during that time. In addition in 2003 HR measures focusing on managerial responsibilities and making adaptations had same kind of effect in 2003.
